Oplus Technologies Ltd. (Yokne'am, Israel) (www.oplus.com) has launched the Matisse-1 digital video de-interlacer chip that, according to the company, combines superb image quality with market-leading functionality.

Designed for flat panel displays, projection systems, progressive scan TVs, and advanced video processing devices, the Matisse-1 chip solution implements Oplus' proprietary Pixel Entropy and PMR (Pixel Mode Recognition) technologies, as well as other state-of-the-art features. It also includes a comprehensive set of development tools and extensive support.

The Matisse-1 is a companion to their Rembrandt-1 display processor, which can be connected to Oplus' Rembrandt-1 display processor chip for enhanced video applications. The Matisse-1 is also compatible with all common scaler chips. It implements Oplus' proprietary Pixel Entropy de-interlacing technology for superior-quality progressive video images, and PMR (Pixel Mode Recognition) technology, which provides seamless support of NTSC and PAL reverse pulldown of TV-adapted film material. Matisse-1 also incorporates two video input ports for maximum system design flexibility, 10-bit internal processing, and a full-featured color-processing unit.
